What should I wear to the ADDYs?

Coming back this year as president of AdFed Suncoast not only represents round two as a president but my third time of hands-on involvement with the American Advertising Awards.

After answering dozens upon dozens of questions about how to enter the competition; “What category does this belong in?” come Gala time I get hit with the really hard question.

What should I wear to the ADDYs?

ADDY 77 is a celebration of how much our industry has changed in the last 40 years (can you believe Star Wars came out in 1977?), and who the stars of advertising are today.

So, in case you weren’t lucky enough to be around in that magical time here are a few fashion tips to help you decide what to wear, and maybe win a prize sponsored by Cinébistro in our 77 Fashionista Contest at the after party.

Of course, if you plan on attending you better...

Sincerely,

Lee Gaines
President, AdFed Suncoast

Fleetwood Mac was and is quintessential 70' style whether talking about music or fashion. The 1970s saw the birth of the indifferent, anti-conformist approach to fashion, which consisted of sweaters, t-shirts, jeans, and sneakers.

Maybe a film icon is right for you. This hairstyle is as memorable as the 77 blockbuster it appeared in. Whether Luke or Leia, you can't go wrong - unless you wear your Star Wars PJ's. That's a big NO. This is the ADDYs after all.

Speaking of hair. Blow dry, blow dry, blow dry, and then blow dry it again. A curling iron helps too.
