Adfed Suncoast Welcomes National Advertising Professionals to Sarasota

The Suncoast chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) is welcoming three advertising industry professionals to Sarasota on March 19th for an evening of discussion, drinks and refreshments. At Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch, the judges from the recent local Advertising Awards will be joining the local organization to speak about their experiences in a panel discussion about the role of creativity in digital media. Tom Christmann of DiMassimi Golstein, Juan Barrera of Legacy79 and Mark Carlson of McDonald’s US Marketing will share their expertise with anyone interested in the advertising world.

“We’re so honored to have these advertising experts joining us,” said Lindsey Nickel - de la O, President of AdFed Suncoast. “The opportunity for us to learn and collaborate with prominent industry professionals from around the country will allow local area professionals to grow and understand the ever changing digital landscape we work in.”

The first panelist of the evening is Tom Christmann, Chief Creative Office for DiMassimo Goldman in New York, NY. Having worked with some of advertising’s biggest names on some of the world’s largest brands including FedEx, Ebay, Guinness, Red Stripe and AOL, Christmann brings a wealth of experience to share with the organization.

The second panelist is Juan Barrera, Captain and Chief Creator for Legacy79 in San Antonio, TX. As the founder of this creative brand consultancy, Barrera excels in creative strategy,  brand strategy and ideation with a passion for online storytelling.

The third panelist in the discussion is Mark Carlson, Senior Creative Director for McDonald’s US Marketing. Carlson has worked for the global brand, McDonald’s, for the past 16 years specializing as an art director, copywriter, director, producer and musician. Carlson manages multiple agencies, vendors and partners across all media platforms, and will speak about digital
media from a large brand perspective.

“All three of our panelists have great experience and knowledge from different aspects of the industry,” said Nickel - de la O. “The diversity of their backgrounds will be beneficial for everyone attending our event on the 19th.” This event will be a panel discussion in which attendees can ask questions and speak first-hand with panelists.
