Good news for AAF Government Relations
Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives unveiled its tax reform proposal. I'm pleased to inform you that it does NOT include any changes to the tax deductibility of advertising.
This issue has been AAF's top priority for 2017. While this is very good news, it is still possible that the Senate will propose amendments that could adversely affect our industry. So we must continue to be vigilant and to communicate with our Senators and Representatives in Washington.
If you communicated with your Congressman, it would be a good idea to send a follow-up "thank-you" communication letting him/her know that you appreciate his/her responsiveness to your issue.
At our district conference in Destin over the weekend, Jack Hebert distributed the two attached flyers during our Government Relations Workshop. Please distribute them to your membership. It would also be a good idea to do a 2-5 minute legislative update at your next general meeting to keep members informed of the progress we have made on their behalf vis-a-vis the tax reform issue.
If it's not already on your calendar, please mark February 6th as Ad Day in Tallahassee. It is an important gathering for all Florida clubs, and we really hope you attend.
As always, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need more information.
Thank you for all you do for AAF and for our industry!
