American Advertising Awards Gala Celebrate ADDY Winners, Scholarship

SARASOTA, FLORIDA --- AdFed Suncoast hosted the 2019-2020 American Advertising Awards gala on February 23rd at CinΓ©bistro. Open to entries throughout Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Hardee, DeSoto, Highlands and Glades counties, the American Advertising Awards honors creative excellence.

Top honors went to Miles Partnership, who won Best of Show for their Kentucky Tourism 2019 TV Commercial for the Kentucky Department of Tourism.

Three Judges’ Choice awards were presented to: The Design Center at Ringling College of Art & Design for Contxt Magazine and their Ringling College Acceptance Package; and Miles Partnership for their Experience AlUla video for the Royal Commission for AlUla.

AMY Awards for Best in Category were awarded to: The Design Center at Ringling College of Art & Design for their Ringling College Acceptance Package; Miles Partnership for their Visit Sarasota Inclusive Campaign for Visit Sarasota County; The Design Center at Ringling College of Art & Design for their Wet Dog Corp. SXSW Brand Activation for Flight School Studio; Michael Saunders & Company for their Nowhere but here: microsite; Miles Partnership for their Experience AlUla video and cinematography for the Royal Commission for AlUla; The Design Center at Ringling College of Art & Design for their Ringling College PreCollege campaign; and On Ideas for their All Faiths Food Bank ThankFULL pro bono campaign.

Over 150 ADDY awards were presented, including for such members and entrants as Miles Partnership, Ringling College of Art & Design, Brand Story Experts, Grapevine Communications, On Ideas, Next-Mark, Studio BCC, Sarasota Magazine, Bealls Stores, Michael Saunders & Company, Visit Sarasota County, AtLarge and DreamLarge. Other members and sponsors include Accrisoft Corporation, Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, Presstige Printing, Intermedia Productions, Andrick & Associates, Atlantis Labs and Sarasota Sign Shop.

Top Student Awards for Ringling students included a Judges’ Choice for Angelica Fernandez for her I Remember Me film; with the top honor of Student Best of Show going to Aiham Kara Hawa for his Time Life - Time book design.

A $1,000 scholarship was sponsored and presented by Anand Pallegar of DreamLarge. The scholarship was awarded to Beatriz Patarata of Ringling College of Art & Design for her application in Graphic Design.

This local competition is sponsored by AdFed Suncoast, a member association of advertising and media professionals. Proceeds from the American Advertising Awards help support AdFed Suncoast’s educational programs, public service projects and proactive government relations efforts.
